History
In 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, the first Shoney drive restaurant was opened. The name was changed to “Big Boy Restaurants” five years later – only to be renamed “Shoney’s” three years later.
Thirty years after the franchise started, Shoney dropped his membership and swapped its emblematic Big Boy mascot for our very own Shoney Bear. The family-friendly restaurant has continuously expanded as Shoney’s, deploying numerous new places.
As a leading businessman, David Davoudpour acquired Shoney in 2007, inspiring new strength, passion, and purpose. Mr. Davoudpour has shown his deep commitment by making Shoney the model of excellence for bringing this American icon back to its glory.
